Intro to wedding planning

One of the biggest questions I hear from newly engaged couples is "What all do we need to get for our wedding?" and "How are we going to keep track of it all? While this might seem like a daunting task to the average person that's never planned a wedding, rest assured it's not as tough as you might think it is! There are few things you can do right off the bat to make wedding planning a breeze without needing to hire a wedding planner.

The vendors you'll want to book well in advance for a typical wedding are the big ones like venue, photographer, videographer, florist, hair & make-up stylist, officiant, DJ, cake baker, and catering and rental companies. Once you have those big ones out of the way, then you can begin to look at live entertainment options, photo booths, and more that will kick things up a notch! Use Pinterest and Etsy to find fun and creative ideas, themes, decorations and BAM! you've got a huge part of your wedding planned already!

Keeping track of everything isn't hard either. I've seen many couples simply use a combo of Google Drive and Trello to keep track of vendors, expenses, ideas, and more. Now that's easy and works well, but an even better option that I recently stumbled across is an app called WedHappy. You give it your date and it auto-populates a calendar with suggested tasks, a timeline of when you should focus on them, and the ability to set reminders for yourself. It also has a robust system for keeping track of vendors and allows for multiple people to have access to it.
